The Village
We decided on this project after meeting the local people and the Imam of the village in person during our visit to Gambia in November 2014. MashaAllah he spoke eloquently and from the heart. We learned later on that the scholar himself had walked miles to study English.
The children of this village are in desperate need of a Masjid! Unless they walk for miles and miles in the heat there is not a Masjid or school in sight. Majority of these children cannot even afford to purchase a drink in this heat.
Brothers and Sisters, it is no exaggeration when we say that some of the parents were in tears, children are being tempted away from deen with sweets and gifts due to poverty and lack of educational facilities.
